Certified organic chickens from the farms of Biogreco in Laconia.
Additional Information:
• The yellow color of the skin is due to natural pigments contained in corn, which is the main cereal in the chickens’ diet, and also in the green grass of any kind that they graze.
• BIOGRECO organic chickens graze every day on organic farms. The mild climate of Laconia favours this habit. At the same time, they grow slowly, reaching almost three times the age of their conventional counterparts. It is precisely these factors that make the meat so tough.
• BIOGRECO farms are probably the only poultry farms in Greece that are truly open to the public. At any time of the year you can take a tour of the facilities to see for yourself how BIOGRECO organic chickens are raised.
• Fresh chickens, whole and cut up, are on the market within 24 hours of slaughter. They are kept and transported at 0-4 degrees Celsius. (This is also the recommended storage temperature in the domestic refrigerator).
