Rosemary belongs to the mint family and is related to other well-known herbs such as basil and thyme.
It is an evergreen shrub, with small, narrow, dense, ashy leaves with cyan and violet flowers, a pleasant aroma and a distinctive, slightly bitter taste. Rosemary is grown throughout the Mediterranean, in Europe and the warmer regions of America, even in rocky areas, and has no particular need for water.
